flyadeal, Saudi Arabia’s new low-fare airline, celebrated its one-year anniversary of operating commercial flights to Egypt, as the airline flew its first flight from Riyadh to Cairo in January of 2022.

flyadeal operates eight daily flights to and from Egypt, connecting Cairo to Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam, Saudi Arabia’s three major airports. The increased number of flights has strengthened the two countries’ strong collaborative ties and joint successes.

An official ceremony was held at the Fairmont Nile City Hotel in Cairo to celebrate this occasion. The event was attended by senior officials and delegations from both countries. They were joined by several Egyptian officials and specialists from the aviation and tourism industries who were given an overview of the airline’s records and achievements accomplished by flyadeal in Egypt.

Con Korfiatis, CEO of flyadeal, said: “We are pleased to celebrate flyadeal’s first anniversary in Cairo. This historical city is prominent in the Arab world and internationally as well as an important tourist destination for Saudis.”

“This is just the beginning for flyadeal in Egypt, as we are working on expanding our presence by introducing a new route soon, which will connect Cairo Airport to Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah. This new destination will allow pilgrims to travel and perform Umrah at a lower price,” Korfiatis added.
